Give As You Earn

Payroll Giving is one of the easiest ways for employees to give regularly to Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, it’s both flexible and tax efficient! Employees choose how much they want to give each month, the donation is then taken from their gross pay, before the tax man touches it.

A regular gift is a fantastic way to support Holly Hedge, to help us care for animals now and to plan for the future making sure that we will be here for as long as the animals need us. Employees can give as much or as little as they like, and because the donation is taken from their pay before tax, it actually costs them less.

For businesses it is free to set up and running a Payroll Giving scheme shows that your company is committed to working in partnership with the community – something that is increasingly important to customers and staff alike.

It’s easy to set up a Payroll Giving donation. Your HR department should have a form that you can complete or you can download our form from here.

When you have completed the form give a copy to your HR department (to send on to their payroll giving agency) and send a copy to Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, Wild Country Lane, Barrow Gurney, Bristol BS48 3SE. We will then allocate you a supporter number and send you an acknowledgement.

Your employer will deduct your donation from your gross salary (before tax).

Your employer will then send your donation to a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) that they are registered with. The PGA will send your donation through to us at Holly Hedge so you don’t need to do a thing!

Please note that the above process can take approximately three months from when you sign up for Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary to receive your first donation. After that we receive your payroll giving donations every month.

If you do experience any problems settings up payroll giving please email [email protected].

Payroll Giving is a great way for your employees to make regular donations to their charity of choice. A Payroll Giving Agency will handle payroll donations on behalf of employees and companies ensuring their donations go to their chosen charities. Payments that your employees make through a Payroll Giving Scheme are deducted from their pay before tax is deducted. This means that employees are given tax relief immediately, and at their highest rate of tax.

If your company is not yet registered with an Inland Revenue approved Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) you will need to do so. A Payroll Giving Scheme is free to introduce and easy to administer. See the Inland Revenue website for a detailed listing by clicking here.

Once registered, pass the payroll giving forms received from your employees onto your PGA and they will do the rest. The PGA is responsible for adding the tax onto a donor’s gift and transferring the total sum to the donor’s nominated charity.
