This is why we rely so much on the kindness of volunteers who devote their spare time willingly to give that little bit of extra individual attention that makes such a difference.

Animals can be therapeutic for humans too, just stroking a dog or cat soothes away the tensions that can build up in a busy lifestyle or ease the stress of a difficult week at work. Just listening to the rhythmic purring of a cat can be so relaxing. Walking a dog can give you that energy boost you've been looking for and keep you fit too. Just what the doctor ordered. And, at the same time, you're helping a homeless animal feel so much happier when the bottom has fallen out of their world.

Not only do we welcome Dog Walkers and Cat Cuddlers but also Home Checkers, help with transport, foster homes and people to help keep the sanctuary gardens looking neat and tidy. However little time you have to spare, even if it's only an odd hour here & there - you could make a difference by lifting their spirits.
