Fundraising

"Friends of Holly Hedge" is a group of friendly volunteers who have been meeting since 2005. We are currently raising funds specifically to help pay for a re-development of the existing kennel block.
We do regular collections at local supermarkets, town centres and pet stores where we need keen helpers for only a couple of hours at weekends. It can be really good fun, chatting to the public, raising both funds and the profile of the Sanctuary. Dressing up is optional !!

We also often need help with transport, foster homes and people to help keep the Sanctuary gardens looking neat and tidy.
However little time you have to spare, even if it's only an odd hour here & there - you can really make a difference to the running of the Sanctuary and to the animals by lifting their spirits. Events

We also hold social events to raise both funds and the profile of the Sanctuary. Our main event is an all day funday during the summer months. This is a great day for all (dogs included!) and we are always looking for as many people as possible to either help on the day or run your own stall.

Holly Hedge Sanctuary’s work is never-ending. It is an on-going struggle to raise funds to give all our rescues the quality care they deserve. Can you help by organising a fund-raising event?

Home Checkers

Before any animal goes to their new home, we 'home check' the prospective house. This involves making an appointment with the prospective owners and looking around the home and talking about relevant issues. It is an integral part of the homing procedure, as soon as there is a reserve on an animal, we hope the home check can be done asap so the animals stay is as short as possible. Holly Hedge has a large catchment area of people looking to rehome our animals. We have a number of fantastic people already checking homes throughout the Bristol, South Glos, North Somerset areas, but sometimes we have to travel long distances to cover those area's where we lack a volunteer. Even if you can only check a small locality, please give us a call.
