I have to confess I have a darker side, If other dogs get too near me I’ll give them a swift bite, I don’t know where it comes from, this urge I have to fight. So I have to wear a muzzle, I don’t really care, It doesn’t bother me that some people stop and stare, And it doesn’t matter that I’ll be the only pet in the home, If I had a human family I wouldn’t be all alone. I’ll need a nice big garden where I can play games and fetch my ball, And walks on lead with muzzle, as I won’t come when you call! My new owners will have to be special, as I’m asking for a lot, But please just stop and consider me, don’t let me be the dog everyone forgot. |

Hi I’m Maisie and as you can probably see I’m a gorgeous white/black staffy. I came to Holly Hedge after being found as a stray. I stayed at a dog pound for a few weeks whilst waiting for my owner to claim me but they never came so now I’m looking for a brand new home to call my own. I am quite stressed and upset being in a kennel and don’t always show my best, but out of my kennel I love going for walks and having big cuddles and end up rolling onto my back for my tummy to be rubbed. Tinks came to Holly Hedge as her owners were moving into rented accommodation and couldn’t take her with them. Tinks was heavily pregnant when she arrived. Tim is her last kitten left and she has formed quite a close bond with him, so we are looking for a home where they can go together. Poor Arthur has not had the best start in life so far. He was found as a stray with major burns down his back. After a lot of treatment he is now on the road to recovery. Teddy is a very loving, although strong willed young dog. He loves being around people and would benefit from an active home with owners who will play with him and take him on fun walks or runs. He loves other dogs although a little to the extreme! As soon as he sees dogs, he wants to meet and play with them. His over-excitement often means he leaves his manners at home, so we are looking for his new owners to be happy to take him to training classes to help his socialisation skills. He lives with a cat and although he will chase her, they tolerate each other and Teddy will respect her if she tells him off. His owner often takes him to work where he meets many people, horses and chickens etc and is always well behaved. He lives with older children but also regularly sees an 18 month old with whom he is very gentle. Teddy also walks nicely on the lead, is very clever, and has learned lots of tricks.
