Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary is an independent local charity that receives no funding from the government or National Lottery. We take in, care for and rehome over 800 unwanted, abandoned and often abused cats and dogs every year. We rely on the generosity and goodwill of our volunteers, fundraisers, local community and businesses to raise the £475,000 needed each year to keep our kennel and cattery doors open to animals in need, that’s just over £1,330 every single day.

Whatever their reason for being here they all deserve the promise of a brighter future with caring, permanent and responsible new owners. Until we are able to find them their new forever home they are assured a safe haven with us. We ensure that every cat and dog receives the love, care and veterinary treatment they need.

It is a continuous struggle to raise funds to cope with the ever-increasing number of homeless animals who need our help, especially in the current economic climate. In recent years we have seen an increase in the number of animals being brought in to us or abandoned needing veterinary treatment, which has seen our bills soar.
